Leafs Reduce Training Camp Roster

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Thursday that the hockey club has reduced its training camp roster by 13 players. Toronto’s current roster (listed below) now stands at 41 players (25 forwards, 12 defencemen and four goaltenders).

Forwards David Broll, Connor Brown, Jamie Devane, Greg McKegg, Carson McMillan, Brad Ross and Brady Vail as well as defencemen Eric Knodel, Andrew MacWilliam, Brendan Mikkelson and Tom Nilsson have all been assigned to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. Goaltenders Christopher Gibson and Cal Heeter have also been assigned to the Marlies.

The Toronto Marlies open their training camp on Friday morning at the MasterCard Centre, while the Maple Leafs continue their preseason schedule with a 7:00 p.m. game at First Niagara Center in Buffalo on Friday night (aired live on Sportsnet ONE and TSN 1050).
