The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled forward Peter Holland
and defenceman Petter Granberg
from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL) on Saturday.
Granberg, 21, was Toronto’s fourth choice, 116th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. The native of Gallivare, Sweden has appeared in 70 games for the Marlies in 2013-14, his first season of professional hockey in North America. He has a team-high plus minus mark of +18 to go along with two goals, four assists and 28 minutes in penalties with the Marlies this season.
He won a gold medal with Sweden by playing 10 games at the 2013 IIHF World Championships. He was also a member of Swedish Elite League champions Skelleftea in 2012-13.
Holland, 23, has 10 goals and eight assists in 23 total AHL games this season with the Norfolk Admirals and the Toronto Marlies. He has five goals and five assists in 38 games for the Maple Leafs in 2013-14. He was acquired from Anaheim on November 16, 2013.
