Leafs Recall Robbie Earl

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Saturday that forward Robbie Earl has been recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

In 44 AHL games this season, he ranks third on the Marlies with 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists), with 36 penalty minutes. The native of Chicago, IL was the 2006 NCAA Frozen Four Tournament MVP with the University of Wisconsin and spent last season with the Marlies, playing 67 games with 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) and 50 penalty minutes. Earl will make his NHL debut wearing the number 52. He was Toronto’s fourth pick, 187th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Now in their third season as the Maple Leafs' primary affiliate, the Marlies lead the North Division with a record of 31-9-1-4 and are one of 29 teams competing in the American Hockey League's 73rd season.
