by Staff Writer / Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that defenceman Marc Moro has been recalled from the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League.

Maple Leafs defenceman Jyrki Lumme has been suspended for the next two games by the National Hockey League for a crosschecking incident March 2 versus the Buffalo Sabres.

Moro, 24, was obtained March 1, 2002 by the Maple Leafs from the Nashville Predators in exchange for defencemen D.J. Smith and Marty Wilford.

The native of Toronto, Ontario recorded one goal and eight assists in 41 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL this season and he appeared in 13 games with Nashville as well. The former captain of the Admirals played in the 2001 International Hockey League All-Star Game. He made his NHL debut on December 12, 1997 versus Washington while with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
