David Nonis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Saturday that the hockey club has recalled Korbinian Holzer from the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies on an emergency basis.
Holzer, 26, has appeared in seven regular season games with the Toronto Marlies this season collecting one assist and six penalty minutes. The native of Munich, Germany has appeared in 24 career NHL games, all with Toronto, registering three points (two goals, one assist) and 30 penalty minutes. Holzer made his NHL debut on November 6, 2010 against the Buffalo Sabres.
The Toronto Marlies continue their eight-game road trip tonight when they travel to Lehigh Valley (AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers), while the Maple Leafs are in Buffalo to play the Sabres tonight at 7 p.m.
