The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Saturday that right-winger Jeff Farkas has been recalled from the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis.
Farkas, 24, has played 68 games with St. John's this season and has 47 points (14 goals, 33 assists) with 47 penalty minutes. He appeared in the AHL All-Star Classic in February and recorded three goals with an assist. Farkas has also appeared in three games with Toronto and has two assists. The native of Amherst, New York made his NHL debut in the 1999-2000 playoffs and scored a goal May 6 versus New Jersey in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Final.
Farkas was Toronto's first choice, 57th overall in the 1997 Entry Draft.
