The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday that the hockey club has recalled forward Carter Ashton and goaltender Drew MacIntyre from the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies.
Ashton, 23, has registered three assists and 19 penalty minutes in 31 games with the Maple Leafs in 2013-14. The 6-3, 215-pound winger has also played 24 games with the Marlies this season, collecting 23 points (16 goals, seven assists) with 30 penalty minutes.
MacIntyre, 30, appeared in one game for the Maple Leafs when he stopped all 14 shots he faced in a relief effort on March 23 at New Jersey. With the Marlies the 6-1, 190-pound goaltender has compiled a record of 27-13-5, a 2.49 goals against average, a .918 save percentage and one shutout in 46 games played. The Charlottetown, PEI native currently ranks second in AHL wins.
The Toronto Marlies will play their next five games on the road beginning on Friday, April 11 when they visit the Rochester Americans. The AHL North Division champion Marlies will return home for their final regular season game on Sunday, April 19 when they host Rochester at Ricoh Coliseum.
