Ok, right about now would be nice.
With the March 3 trade deadline suddenly a factor, the Leafs will have to soon decide whether they will be buyers or sellers.
The league will be dark Feb. 15 to 28 for the Olympics. That leaves about a month for Leafs GM Brian Burke to decide what side of the buyer/seller dynamic he will work.
With 11 free agents able to walk unfettered next season, Burke has scads of rentals but little first-line difference makers he can parlay. With the trade of Tomas Kaberle officially, according to Burke, an absolute impossibility, the Leafs will be hard-pressed to garner worthwhile prospects or draft choices.
All of which makes this week a bit more important than most of the previous ones. The Maple Leafs will bring a 7-13-4 road record heading into Friday's game with them and a disastrous road trip could make Burke’s musings about the deadline seem quaint.
The Leafs play four road games next week, including three games in four nights.Monday:
