(June 15, 2006) -- John Ferguson, vice-president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Thursday that the team has obtained Boston's seventh-round selection in the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft in exchange for the rights to forward Petr Tenkrat.
Tenkrat, 29, did not appear in any games for the Maple Leafs. His rights were claimed by Toronto from the Blue Jackets when Travis Green of the Maple Leafs was selected by Columbus during the NHL Waiver Draft on October 3, 2003.
Originally an eighth-round selection of the Mighty Ducks (230 overall) Tenkrat has played in the Finnish Elite League for Karpat since the 2003-04 season. The Maple Leafs will have seven selections in the NHL Entry Draft (seven rounds) which will be held June 24 in Vancouver.
