GAME: Philadelphia Flyers (4-2-3-1) at Toronto Maple Leafs (4-3-2-1).
TIME: Saturday, 7 p.m. EST.
The Toronto Maple Leafs look to exact a measure of revenge from the Philadelphia Flyers as the Eastern Conference rivals meet for the first time since last season's playoffs.
Toronto had won four straight first-round series before losing in seven games to the Flyers last season. The Flyers, meanwhile, advanced to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in three years, but lost to the Ottawa Senators in six games.
Philadelphia, which leads the Atlantic Division by two points, is coming off a 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Thursday.
Mike Rupp scored twice as New Jersey overcame a 2-0 Flyers lead after the first period.
"You can't make mistakes and expect to beat the Stanley Cup champs," said Philadelphia's Jeff Hackett, who had 25 saves. "We made three mistakes. We could have easily put them away in the first."
While they still lead the Devils in the standings, the Flyers were hoping to make a statement against the defending champions after winning their previous two games by a combined score of 10-1.
The loss was only the Flyers' third in 10 games this season.
Toronto fell 5-3 to the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, its second straight after winning three in a row.
"We made some mental errors late in the game, which we seem to be doing lately," coach Pat Quinn said.
The Maple Leafs were without one of their top forwards, as Nik Antropov missed his first game after suffering a separated shoulder in Toronto's 3-2 overtime loss to the Atlanta Thrashers on Monday. The 23-year-old left wing isn't completely sure how it happened, but claimed it was on a hit from behind. He is sidelined indefinitely.
Maple Leafs center Joe Nieuwendyk extended his point streak to six games with an assist Thursday. He has three goals and three assists during the stretch.
