The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Sunday that the team has loaned forwards Kasperi Kapanen and Brendan Leipsic to the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
Kapanen, 19, skated in four games with the Maple Leafs after being recalled from the Marlies on February 29. In 32 games with the Marlies, Kapanen has collected 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists). He was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and arrived in Toronto via trade on July 1, 2015.
Leipsic, 21, scored one goal and registered two assists in six games with the Maple Leafs this season while collecting 37 points (16 goals, 21 assists) in 50 games with the Marlies. Leipsic was selected by the Nashville Predators in the third round (89th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft before being traded to Toronto on February 15, 2015.
The Maple Leafs host the Buffalo Sabres at Air Canada Centre on Monday at 7:30 p.m. EST. The Marlies return to the ice this afternoon when they face the Utica Comets at Ricoh Coliseum at 3 p.m.
