The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has loaned forward Frederik Gauthier to the Toronto Marlies (AHL), while forward Nikita Soshnikov has been recalled from the Marlies.

Gauthier, 22, was recalled by the Maple Leafs from the Marlies on November 7, but did not skate in any games for the NHL club. He has collected two assists in eight games with the Marlies this season. In 2016-17, he split his season between the Maple Leafs and Marlies, recording two goals and one assist in 21 games with the Maple Leafs, while registering four goals and nine assists in 46 regular season games with the Marlies. He had four points (1 goal, 3 assists) in six Calder Cup playoff games for the Marlies. Gauthier was selected by the Maple Leafs in the first round (21st overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Soshnikov, 24, has skated in 14 games for the Toronto Marlies this season and sits second on the team in scoring with 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists), while amassing 10 penalty minutes. In 2016-17, he appeared in 56 games for the Maple Leafs and recorded five goals and four assists. In 67 career NHL games over two seasons, all with the Maple Leafs, he has recorded 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists). Soshnikov was signed to a three-year entry level contract by the Maple Leafs on March 20, 2015.
The Maple Leafs return to action on November 16 at Air Canada Centre when they host the New Jersey Devils at 7:00 p.m.
