(September 15, 2005) -- Live music, meeting Leafs Alumni and face painting are just a few of the fun-packed activities planned for the Leafs Blue & White pre-game festivities. Free to the general public, the pre-game festivities take place Saturday, September 17 between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum's West Annex prior to the annual Leafs Blue & White game presented by McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited.
Those attending the pre-game festivities can expect a lively party atmosphere and fun for the whole family as NHL hockey gets set to return to Toronto for a new season. Attendees can test their hockey skills through the Leafs Off-Ice tour and McDonald's Sports Zone, listen to the sounds of the George Kash Band, get autographs from Leafs Alumni Wendel Clark and Darryl Sittler and meet Leafs and Marlies mascots Carlton the Bear and Duke the Dog.
A limited number of tickets for the Leafs Blue & White are still available. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster by phone at (416) 872-5000, online at www.ticketmaster.com or through all Ticketmaster outlets. Prices are $10, $12 and $15 plus service charge. Purchases must be made by credit card. Only Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club/Enroute will be accepted.
Proceeds from the Blue & White game benefit the Leafs Fund, the charitable arm of the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club. Raising more than a million dollars each year, the Leafs Fund is committed to improving the lives of children and youth by providing access to sports and recreation opportunities that encourage health and wellness in the community.
The Leafs home opener will be Wednesday, October 5 with the Leafs hosting the Ottawa Senators at Air Canada Centre. Game time is 8 p.m.
