Tailgate party on Bay Street celebrates the start of the NHL season
(TORONTO) - Toronto drivers take note — Bay Street will be closed down between Lake Shore Boulevard and Front Street on Saturday, October 6 starting at 7 a.m.. Leafs fans — it’s time to celebrate the start of the NHL season at the Toronto Maple Leafs Tailgate Party.
Admission is free for the party taking place on Bay Street between Front and Lake Shore.
Starting at 4 p.m., Leafs fans can test their hockey skills at the Leafs Off-Ice Hockey Tour, as well as enjoy the many other interactive activities including Playstation games, and blue and white face painting prior to the start of the Leafs game against division rival the Montréal Canadiens.
Toronto based rock band, the Carpet Frogs, best known as the back up band for Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman, will also entertain the crowd. Fans can also enjoy the many food and beverage and retail concessions. There will be plenty of prizes and giveaways including Leafs tickets and flags.
Fans without tickets for the Leafs versus Canadiens game are still encouraged to attend the event and enjoy the exciting atmosphere. Large screen televisions will broadcast the Leafs TV pregame show and the game. Everyone is encouraged to wear their Leafs jerseys.
Budding actors take note, the production crew for the Love Guru starring Scarborough’s own Mike Myers will be filming at the Leafs Tailgate Party.
