Leafs Don't Fly Against Wings

DETROIT (AP) -- Johan Franzen and Krys Kolanos scored third-period goals and Dominik Hasek made 22 saves in the Detroit Red Wings' 4-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night in the final pre-season game for both teams.
Dan Cleary had a goal and an assist, and Niklas Kronwall also scored for Detroit (5-1-2). John Pohl and Bryan McCabe scored for Toronto (3-4)
Franzen took a pass from Cleary in the right circle, made a move and beat goalie Andrew Raycroft with a shot along the ice at 7:40 of the third period. Kolanos added an insurance goal with 8:12 remaining.
Pohl gave Toronto a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal 9:32 into the first period.
Cleary's short-handed goal tied it 1-1 early in the second period, but McCabe's power-play goal gave the Maple Leafs a 2-1 lead.
Kronwall tied it again with a power-play goal with 5:56 left in the second period.
Raycroft stopped 18 shots.
