by Staff Writer / Toronto Maple Leafs

David Nonis, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced on Wednesday that the hockey club has traded forward Matthew Lombardi to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for the Coyotes’ fourth round draft pick in the 2014 Entry Draft, which could become a third round pick if certain conditions are met.

Lombardi, 30, played 62 games for the Maple Leafs in 2011-12 registering 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) with 10 penalty minutes. The Leafs originally acquired Lombardi along with Cody Franson from Nashville in exchange for Brett Lebda and Robert Slaney on July 3, 2011.
