Leafs Assign Staffan Kronwall To Toronto Marlies

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Thursday that defenceman Staffan Kronwall has been assigned to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Kronwall played in five preseason games for the Maple Leafs collecting one assist and two penalty minutes.

The Maple Leafs also announced that defenceman Phil Oreskovic has been reassigned from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies to the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL.

The Marlies will open their 2007-08 regular season on Saturday, October 6 when they host the Rochester Americans at Ricoh Coliseum.  Game time is 4:30 p.m.

Now in their third season as the Maple Leafs’ primary affiliate, the Marlies are one of 29 teams competing in the American Hockey League’s 73rd season.  For ticket information to the Marlies’ next home game at Ricoh Coliseum at Exhibition Place, call 416-597-PUCK.
