Leafs Alumni Team Up For Camp Trillium

by Staff Writer / Toronto Maple Leafs

On Sunday, June 22, 2014, over 900 amateur athletes, 100 volunteers and 75 families from Camp Trillium spent a sports-filled day at the second annual MLSE Team Up Challenge presented by Ford and your Toronto Area Ford Dealers.

Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Wendel Clark, Johnny Bower, Al lafrate, Darryl Sittler, Shayne Corson, Peter Ing, Brad Marsh, Ric Nattress, Darcy Tucker, Mark Osborne, Mike Johnson, Mike Krushelnyski, Lou Franceschetti, Bob Nevin, Wayne Primeau and Tom Fergus teamed up with the amateur athletes at BMO Field to provide game day coaching.

In the province of Ontario, each year 400 parents hear the words "your child has cancer." This unique, one-day tournament saw teams compete in basketball, ball hockey and soccer to raise more than $600,000 to support Camp Trillium and send over 100 children battling cancer and their families to camp. Funds raised through MLSE Team Up Challenge will go towards sending more than 100 families to Camp Trillium.

Special thank you to presenting partner Ford and your Toronto Area Ford Dealers, associates partners Air Canada, Scotiabank, Scotts, restaurant partner The Keg Steakhouse + Bar and breakfast partner Boom Breakfast & Co., who made this amazing event in support of Camp Trillium possible.
