The Leafs hit the ice Thursday at the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence before heading to Chicago for Friday's game against the Blackhawks.

For the second straight day, Mike Komisarek wasn't on the ice and after practice the Leafs announced that the big defenceman will be out up to three weeks with a small quadriceps tear.

Carl Gunnarsson was recalled from the Toronto Marlies, Jay Rosehill was assigned to the Marlies and Komisarek was placed on the injured reserve.

Komisarek was orginally hurt last Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings but he tried to play Tuesday against Minneosta but had to leave the game after just six shifts and 2:47 of ice-time.

Keep checking throughout the day for much more.
