Kadri Returns Home Tonight

by Mike Ulmer / Toronto Maple Leafs
Nazem Kadri comes home tonight.

Unremarkable in the rookie training camp held in London last week, the 19-year-old London native will try to deliver a better performance in front of friends and family as well as fans who remember him for two productive seasons with the London Knights.

The Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers play at 7 p.m. tonight at John Labatt Centre.

Kadri will likely start between veteran NHLers Kris Versteeg and Colby Armstrong.

Expect Tim Brent to centre the second line between Marcel Mueller and Luca Caputi, who scored in Wednesday’s 4-1 Leafs over Ottawa.

Christian Hanson, impressive so far, will centre the third line with Marcel Mueller and Luca Caputi, another goalscorer from Wednesday night.

The fourth line looks like Ryan Hamilton with Brad Boyce and Greg McKegg. Expect Luke Schenn, a standout against Ottawa, to play with Francois Beauchemin on the first unit.  Danny Richmond,
Korbinian Holzer, Brett Lebda and Matt Lashoff round out the defencemen.

Jonas Gustavsson will garner his second appearance of the pre-season.

Although an official announcement wasn’t made, Gustavsson seems destined to share the net with James Reimer.

The Leafs enter the game at 1-1. The Flyers are coming off a shootout win over New Jersey in their only contest of the pre-season.
