Leaf fans got a glimpse of the not too distant future last night in Edmonton.
Justin Pogge, the Leafs young netminder and former CHL Goaltender of the year got his first taste of NHL action last night in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Oilers.
He did not disappoint anyone. Solid throughout he was victimized by a deflection and a “knuckleball” that beat him in overtime.
Pogge did not see any action last year in the preseason but most certainly will see more this time around. With both Andrew Raycroft and Vesa Toskala ready for this season, Pogge will start the year with the Marlies and expects to have a solid AHL campaign. His stall at Air Canada Centre will be occupied in the not too distant future. Last night he demonstrated poise, great positional play, athleticism and composure. Hopefully his next preseason start will be at home
Many thanks to my basketball counter part Chuck Swirsky to mention about the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame’s loss to his Michigan Wolverines.
My question about the so called National Champions this year is this.
How do you electrocute a wolverine? One Double A!! as in Division I-AA Appalachian State!
