The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Ilya Mikheyev to a two-year contract extension. The average annual value of the contract is $1.645 million.

Mikheyev, 26, registered 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 39 regular season games during his first National Hockey League season in 2019-20. The Omsk, Russia native also suited up for five games in Toronto's Qualifying Round series versus Columbus.
Prior to joining the Maple Leafs, Mikheyev played four seasons with Avangard of the Kontinental Hockey League, recording 122 points (62 goals, 60 assists) in 224 KHL games. He was named to the KHL's First All-Star Team in 2018-19 and represented Avangard at the 2019 KHL All-Star Game.
Mikheyev was originally signed by the Maple Leafs to an entry-level contract on May 6, 2019.
