Brian Burke, president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, said Wednesday that goaltender Jonas Gustavsson
flew home to Toronto this afternoon. His condition yesterday did not require him to stay overnight in the hospital and he is expected to see cardiac specialists today. The team expects to have an update tomorrow.
Gustavsson played the first period yesterday at Montreal and stopped all eight shots that he faced in the Leafs’ 3-0 victory. Goaltender Joey MacDonald played the final two periods.
