Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski has been automatically suspended for three games, without pay, as a result of an abuse of official incident in NHL Game #601 against the Montreal Canadiens, the National Hockey League announced today.
The suspension is a result of Rule 41.4 - Category llI. The rule states: “Any player who deliberately applies physical force to an official solely for the purpose of getting free of such an official during or immediately following an altercation shall be suspended for not less than three (3) games.”
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Grabovski will miss Saturday’s game at Philadelphia, Jan. 13 against Nashville and Jan. 15 at Carolina. He will be eligible to return Jan. 16 at Atlanta.
