The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday that the team has reassigned goaltender Christopher Gibson
to the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
Gibson, 22, has appeared in 17 regular season games with the Marlies this season, posting a record of 6-9-2 with a 2.52 goals against average and 0.919 save percentage. The Karkkila, Finland native served as back up to James Reimer in two games and has yet to make his NHL debut. Gibson was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the second round (49th overall) during the 2011 NHL Draft.
The Toronto Marlies return to the ice tomorrow evening when they travel to Adirondack (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) for a 5:30 p.m. game. The Maple Leafs will play their fifth game of a seven-game road trip tomorrow night in Boston at 7 p.m.
