(TORONTO) - After a back and forth battle that saw the Maple Leafs rally from 3-1 deficit, Toronto and Montreal would need overtime to settle their rookie tournament game Friday night at Ricoh Coliseum.

Montreal's Matthew D'Agostini tied the game at 5-5 with 4:29 remaining in the third sending the game to overtime and setting up the heroics.

Luke Fulgham raced down the right wing and sent a pass across to Robbie Earl. His first shot attempt was blocked, but managed to sneak the second shot through the legs of Canadiens' goaltender Carey Price for the victory.

John Mitchell scored twice for the Leafs while Earl, Brent Aubin, Phil Oreskovic and Jamie Sifers added singles.

Mikhail Grabovski had a pair for Montreal with D'Agostini, Kevin Petit and Matthieu Aubin adding singles.

Justin Pogge made 18 saves for the win, while Price stopped 33 in the loss.

Toronto faces York University Saturday night at 7pm, while Montreal will square off against Florida at 4pm at Ricoh Coliseum.

Earlier in the day, Drew Larman scored a hat trick for Florida as the Panthers downed the Lions 6-1. Kevin Druce made 49 saves in the losing cause for York.
