The Toronto Maple Leafs announced the signing of goaltender Corey Schwab to a contract Monday afternoon. In keeping with club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Schwab, 30, appeared in three preseason games with the Maple Leafs this season and posted a 1.98 goals against average and a save percentage of .909.
Last season, the native of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, appeared in 50 games with the Kansas City Blades of the International Hockey League and recorded a 3.14 goals against average. He has played in 103 career games in the NHL with New Jersey, Tampa Bay and Vancouver.
