Connolly To Miss Time With Upper Body Injury

by Matt Iaboni / Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs were without Tim Connolly at Monday’s practice. The Leafs forward suffered an upper body injury during Saturday’s game and will be lost from 10 days to two weeks.

“He got hurt during the first penalty kill and left for a bit and felt OK to continue but I got the email yesterday that he is going to be out 10 days to two weeks,” head coach Ron Wilson said.

Tyler Bozak worked at centre at practice with Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul and has been at centre for thme parts of the last two seasons. Wilson also said that a call up from the Toronto Marlies is likely.

Luke Schenn will draw back into the lineup Tuesday against Florida.

Wilson is hoping his defenceman learned from watching Saturday’s game.

“You have to be relaxed going into the game and having seen the game from a different perspective may allow him to prepare himself mentally a little bit differently than he has been,” Wilson said.

After Saturday’s tough loss, the players weren’t the only ones to get away from the rink Sunday.

“I went to a movie, I rented a movie and did some reading,” Wilson said.

If you are wondering, the two movies were “The Way” and “Margin Call” and the book is called “Aftershock”.

James Reimer didn’t practice again on Monday and you can expect to see Jonas Gustavsson in net against the Panthers Tuesday.

“He has been playing really well and you can’t go just by the other night,” Wilson added.

A Wilson press conference couldn’t end without a question about the status of his number one netminder .

“Nothing has changed.” Wilson said.
