Bell Returns in Nation's Capital

by Joe Bowen / Toronto Maple Leafs
Mark Bell has been waiting a while for this night.  The former Ottawa 67 is coming back to the Nation’s Capital to play hockey again. It’s 15 games into the Leafs season and Bell will have served his NHL suspension letting him take the ice with  Leaf uniform on for the first time.  Bell’s legal problem has been well documented and this delightful young man knows what lies ahead this summer.  Tonight he takes a huge step towards getting his life back on track.

He may line up on a unit that includes Kyle Wellwood which means the Leafs are starting to get healthy.

If Darcy Tucker and Bryan McCabe make it back by the weekend and the infirmary doesn’t welcome any new members, it would be the first time in two years you could say the Leafs are icing the team they want.

The injury hex has played as big a role in the Leafs problems as any thing else. Leading he league in man games lost due to injury last year and duplicating that unfortunate stat to this point in the season has not helped the Leafs cause.

Lets see what the real Leaf team can accomplish when healthy for a while.
