Air Canada Centre to Hold Free Public Skate

(February 12, 2006) -- Skating enthusiasts and Leafs fans will have an opportunity to skate on the best ice surface in the National Hockey League on Friday, February 17 when Air Canada Centre holds a free public skate.

Skate sessions will be 45 minutes each starting at 11 a.m. with the last session scheduled for 8 p.m. A wristband policy will be in effect with wristbands distributed 30 minutes prior to each session. A maximum of 250 people will be allowed on the ice at any given time.

Participants must bring their own skates and enter Air Canada Centre through Gate 1. Helmets are mandatory for children 12 years and under.  

Air Canada Centre remains one of North America's premier sports and entertainment venues.

In 2005, Air Canada Centre was ranked among the top five entertainment venues in the world and has hosted more than 17.5 million guests during its seven year history.
