AHL All-Star Rosters Announced Tuesday

The American Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies will be hosting a press event on Tuesday, January 9, in the Rogers Media Centre at Air Canada Centre. The event will begin immediately following Toronto Maple Leafs practice, at approximately 11:30 a.m.

American Hockey League President and CEO David Andrews will be on hand to discuss the upcoming 2007 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, which will take place at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto on January 28-29. Mr. Andrews will be joined by several VIP's who will discuss their past participation in the American Hockey League and the AHL All-Star Classic, including:

Andy Bathgate - 2007 AHL All-Star Hockey Hall of Fame Honouree
Steve Thomas - 2007 AHL All-Star Honourary Captain
Paul Maurice - Head coach, Toronto Maple Leafs
Kyle Wellwood - Forward, Toronto Maple Leafs
Peter Laviolette - Head coach, Carolina Hurricanes
Eric Staal - Forward, Carolina Hurricanes

The playing rosters for the 2007 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic will also be announced at this time.

The 2007 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic features the 2007 CCM AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, January 28 (7:00 ET) and the 2007 AHL All-Star Game on Monday, January 29 (7:00 ET), and will be televised live on Rogers Sportsnet in Canada and on a network of regional broadcast partners in the United States.

Of the 394 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since 1995, more than 93 percent have competed in the National Hockey League, including Patrice Bergeron, Brad Boyes, Daniel Briere, Jonathan Cheechoo, Pavol Demitra, Rick DiPietro, Patrik Elias, Ray Emery, Miikka Kiprusoff, Kari Lehtonen, Ryan Miller, Dwayne Roloson, Marc Savard, Martin St. Louis, Jason Spezza, Eric Staal, Steve Sullivan and Kyle Wellwood.
