Training Camp has been a dynamic part of the Maple Leafs preseason for over 8 decades. In 1997 the program was expanded to include a youth clinic.
The Maple Leafs will host a one-day clinic in advance of the 2016-17 season on the very ice the team practices on at the Ford Performance Centre. The training includes mid-to-high intensity power skating and individual hockey skill development. Off-ice drills and strength training aim to improve players' athleticism and integral skills in this sport. Participants are selected through the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada's Ontario Skills Camps.
