Tampa Bay was dealt a big blow on the road in Philadelphia when recently-named All-Star forward Tyler Johnson and top pair defenseman Victor Hedman left the game against the Flyers with injuries.
Hedman left late in the first period and didn’t come back into the game. Johnson played into the second before exiting.
Both players sustained lower-body injuries and didn’t return to the game.
On Tuesday, Lightning coach Jon Cooper confirmed that both Hedman and Johnson will miss the game at Boston but that neither injury should be considered a long-term injury.
Cooper said Tyler Johnson is day-to-day and that Hedman is "dayish."
The Lightning recalled forward Vladislav Namestnikov from Syracuse on Tuesday morning.
Johnson, who was named to his first NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, leads the Lightning in points (45) and assists (29).
Hedman missed 18 games earlier in the season with a fractured finger but has been a regular in the Lightning lineup since returning November 29 versus Ottawa.
Johnson had an assist against Philly before leaving.
