Trio of Lightning Draft Parties Set for June 20

TAMPA BAYThe Tampa Bay Lightning will host three area parties for fans during the first round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft on Friday, June 20. The Lightning hold the first overall pick in the draft, which will be held at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.

The Lightning will host three parties starting at 6 p.m. to make it easy for fans throughout the Tampa Bay area to come out and cheer on the team as it lays the groundwork for an exciting 2008-09 season. Boston’s in Tampa (9316 Anderson Road; 813.901.9590), Barnacles in Brandon (926 Providence Road; 813.653.0959) and Courtside Grille in Clearwater/St. Petersburg (110 Fountain Parkway North, just off Ulmerton; 727.561.7433) will be the party sites as the first round is televised live on VERSUS starting at 7 p.m.

The Lightning Girls, the Lightning Energy Team and ThunderBug will make appearances at the parties, with t-shirts and autographed merchandise available for fans. Lightning radio play-by-play broadcaster Dave Mishkin will appear at Barnacles in Brandon, while radio stations 98Rock and AM620 WDAE will also make appearances at the parties.
