Well it is the day after last night's shootout loss to the Avalanche and the talk of the town is still the save made on Milan Hejduk by Mike Smith that was later called a goal because Smith 'threw' his stick.

I don't claim to be an expert but it didn't look to me like he threw anything.  It was pretty clear that the stick was dropped as he brought it back after attempting a poke check.  He also recieved a 10 minute misconduct penalty for abuse of officials after the game but at this point that really isn't an issue.

After having the night to calm down Smith seemed to have a sense of humor about it today as he had taped his stick to his blocker at practice today.  He further said that he didn't want to talk about it any more but said with the team scratching and clawing for every point to get back in the race it is a shame for the game to be decided like that.

Olaf Kolzig as back on the ice today meaning that Karri Ramo, who was Smith's back-up last night, was returned to Norfolk.
