It’s nice to be in a different city, although it’s in the 40s and rainy in St. Louis today. It’s about a 15 minute ride from the team hotel to the Scottrade Center in downtown St. Louis. The Lightning used to stay in a downtown hotel connected to a classic old train terminal that was adjacent to the arena, but considering the team’s lack of success in St. Louis, a change was in order.
The last Lightning victory in St. Louis was the fourth game in franchise history, if that puts things into perspective. However, the Bolts have only been to St. Louis 11 times in 14 seasons, and the last trip (February 19, 2004) resulted in a 4-3 OT loss.
It looks like there will be one change to the Lightning lineup, with Andre Roy sitting this one out along with defenseman Doug Janik. Johan Holmqvist is expected to get the call in goal.
The Blues are a well-balanced team led offensively by Paul Kariya, Brad Boyes, Keith Tkachuk and Andy McDonald. You think Boston would like to have Boyes and his 29 goals back after trading him last season for defenseman Dennis Wideman, then losing offensive leader Patrice Bergeron this season?
