First of all, Happy Holidays to all Lightning fans from the Insider! The team enjoyed a rare three-day break for Christmas, but it was back to work today with an 8;30 a.m. Skate at the Forum. It was a short one, though it was good to see center Craig MacDonald and defenseman Brad Lukowich back on the ice. Both are expected to play tonight, and MacDonald will be wearing a junior hockey-style full face shield to protect the injuries to his mouth. Lightning head coach John Tortorella said rookie Karri Ramo will get his third consecutive start in goal.

After practice the team rushed to the airport for a 10 a.m. Flight to Washington for tonight's 7 p.m. Game against the Capitals (thanks schedule makers). It's rainy and cold in D.C. today; yet another day to appreciate Florida. Due to the weather and traffic from Baltimore, the team didn't arrive at the hotel until after 1 p.m.
