The Lightning get right back to it tonight after last night's overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues. Steven Stamkos
' goal with 15.7 seconds remaining earned them the extra point, but not the win. Don't look now, but Stamkos is seven goals behind the franchise record for goals by a rookie in a season with 21 set by Brad Richards in 2000-01.
As for the game against the Hurricanes tonight, Mike McKenna will get the chance to get back between the pipes and Karri Ramo, who has played well, will go back to the bench in the second game of a back-to-back. Ryan Malone
skated today and will be ready to go tonight after suffering from the flu and missing last night's game. Rick Tocchet also said this morning that he is pretty sure Paul Szczechura will be back in the line up tonight as well after missing time with an upper body injury.
With Malone and Szczechura ready to go it sounds like the Lightning will most likely have to send Brandon Segal back down to Norfolk.
Tocchet told the media this morning that Cory Murphy's play recently has been a pleasant surprise, "The last four or five games he has really been in guys faces. He's really slowed the game down and he has a great outlet pass." Murphy played a career high 30:16 last night and will no doubt see a lot of action again tonight.
