The NHL's annual free agent frenzy is on, with teams jockeying to bring in prized free agents and fill holes as they begin to put their 2012-13 rosters together. The Lightning are no exception, as general manager Steve Yzerman will work diligently to improve the hockey club by addressing several needs.

Among them that Yzerman has declared publicly include a top-four defenseman, although it is likely he will inquire about any available player he feels could serve as an asset to the roster.
