TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defenseman Zach Bogosian to a three-year contract worth $850,000 AAV, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced.

Bogosian, 31, skated in 45 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season, recording four assists to go along with a +7 rating and 49 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman led the Maple Leafs for penalty minutes and ranked fourth on the team for hits with 67. Bogosian also played in seven playoff games with Toronto in 2021, registering one assist.
The Massena, New York native has appeared in 689 career NHL games over 13 seasons, posting 53 goals and 200 points to go along with 620 penalty minutes. Bogosian signed with the Lightning on February 23, 2020 as a free agent and skated in eight games with the Bolts in 2019-20, recording two assists. He was a member of the Lightning's 2020 Stanley Cup Championship team, posting four assists in 20 postseason games during the playoff run.
Bogosian was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the first round, third overall, at the 2008 NHL Draft.
