Tampa Bay took Cameron MacDonald from the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with its Fifth Round selection (160th overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft.

MacDonald is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound center who shoots left.
In 30 games with the Sea Dogs during the 2020-21 season, the power forward notched 10 goals, 17 points and 30 penalty minutes. He decommitted from Boston College to play for Saint John.
MacDonald is 18 years old and from Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia. Prior to joining Saint John, he skated for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League and registered six goals and 20 points in 44 games in 2019-20.
MacDonald is rated the 136th North American skater in the final NHL Central Scouting Standings.
