TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have unveiled their upgraded website for the beginning of the 2016-17 season. The enhanced website features more content, a more user friendly interface and new player pages.
The upgraded website represents the first major re-design of the existing Lightning website since 2008, featuring a new homepage, scrollable articles, higher quality images, HD-quality video, and more content than ever before. The website's improved and updated design will make it easier than ever for fans to catch up on the latest Lightning news and updates.
The Lightning also launched their new app this week, serving as a launcher for the Lightning page inside the new NHL app. In addition to the new NHL app, MLBAM will be launching an app called ARENA that will feature AMALIE Arena. The new app will provide a single focal point for utility and content for all events at AMALIE Arena. Fans using the app will be able to use digital ticketing to enter AMALIE Arena, see full listings of events held at AMALIE Arena, and much more.
Last summer, the NHL and Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM), the technical arm of MLB, announced a six-year digital media rights partnership including NHL.tv, NHL Center Ice, NHL Network and NHL.com. The upgraded Lightning website represents the first launch in the partnership between MLBAM and the NHL that directly changes digital media and how it interacts with Lightning fans around the world.
