TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning, in partnership with the Bolts Better Halves, announced today their pet calendar, 'Barks and Bolts', is now available for purchase at both Tampa Bay Sports locations, AMALIE Arena and International Plaza, as well as online at www.TampaBaySports.com.

The 14-month pet calendar, which starts in November of 2017 and runs through December 2018, is on sale for $20 with all proceeds benefitting the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. 'Barks and Bolts' features 14 different players paired with either their own dogs or pets that have been adopted from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Lightning players included in the calendar are Steven Stamkos with his dog, Trigger; Victor Hedman with his dog, Harry; Nikita Kucherov with Kayla, a Humane Society of Tampa Bay dog; and Anton Stralman with his rabbits, Charlie, Lisa and Lotta.

The Bolts Better Halves, the significant others of the Lightning players, coaches and hockey operations staff, spearheaded the calendar initiative, which was photographed in a series of Tampa locations by longtime team photographer Scott Audette, renowned for his work on and off the ice.. Over the past two seasons, the Bolts Better Halves have also championed Fashion with a Cause, benefitting The Spring of Tampa Bay, and have cooked and served meals at Ronald McDonald House to comfort families who are displaced to be with their children in the hospital. Annually, the group also hosts a holiday party and generously provides gifts for families receiving services through the Children's Cancer Center. They have also volunteered at numerous food drives in the Tampa Bay area and collected items on Ford Thunder Alley prior to Lightning home games.

Prior to the game on October 26 when the Bolts take on the Detroit Red Wings, the Bolts Better Halves and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay will be on Ford Thunder Alley for a pet supply drive and adoption clinic. Fans will be able to adopt dogs and cats and donate items that will be used to improve the care of pets in need of help. Accepted donation items include; pet food, toys & treats, grooming tools and cleaning products.
