Tuesday, the Lightning are playing their first of three games against the New York Islanders (and the first of two games at Barclays Center)...The Lightning and the Islanders are facing each other for the first time since their Eastern Conference Semifinal showdown in the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs, a series the Bolts won 4-1 to advance to the Eastern Conference Final...The Lightning swept both games at Barclays Center during that playoff series, winning Game 3 5-4 in OT and Game 4 2-1 in OT...Tampa Bay went 1-2-0 against New York in the regular season last year, splitting a pair of games at AMALIE Arena and falling in their lone regular season visit to Barclays Center...In their last regular-season meeting, the Islanders downed the Bolts 5-2 at Barclays Center on April 4, 2016...The Bolts have lost their last three on the road against the Islanders and eight of their last nine, going 1-7-1 over that stretch...The Lightning
are 18-24-2 with one tie all-time on the road against the Islanders...The Bolts are 43-39-6 with three ties all-time overall against the Islanders.
Tampa Bay concludes its six-game road trip (tied for longest road trip of the season) and ends a stretch of three games in four days Tuesday against the Islanders..The Lightning failed to score in the first period against the Rangers, the eighth time in nine games they haven't scored a first-period goal...The Bolts have scored just three first-period goals this season (all 3 coming Oct. 25 at TOR), tied for second least in the NHL...The four goals allowed by Tampa Bay in the second period of Sunday's loss at the Rangers was the most they've allowed in a single period since giving up four in the third period Feb. 18 vs. WPG in a 6-5 Lightning shootout victory...The Lightning scored their eighth power-play goal (tied for fifth most in the NHL) on Sunday and have scored a power-play goal in four of nine games this season.
