TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning announced they will be wearing special warmup jerseys to celebrate Black History Month at tomorrow night's game when the team hosts the Dallas Stars at AMALIE Arena. The Lightning and Vinik Sports Group announced at the beginning of February their full list of initiatives for how they will be supporting Black History Month which can be found at

The patch was designed with input from Lightning forwards Mathieu Joseph and Gemel Smith. The Lightning will also be auctioning off Curtis McElhinney's Black Lives Matter inspired mask which he debuted over the summer while the team was in Toronto for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. McElhinney designed the mask with help from teammate Mathieu Joseph to raise awareness towards social injustice.

. The auction will run through Friday, March 5 at 6 p.m. with proceeds benefitting local education programs around black history for middle school students via the Lightning Foundation, with the goal of inspiring today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
