Tampa Bay Lightning forward Martin St. Louis
was the runner up for the Lady Byng Trophy at the NHL Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas on June 18. He finished second to Detroit Red Wings foward Pavel Datsyuk.
St. Louis was nominated for the second consecutive year, but it was Datsyuk who captured the trophy for the fourth season in a row. St. Louis garnered 662 points while Datsyuk received 933.
The Lady Byng Trophy is awarded annually to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.
In other news at the awards Steven Stamkos
finished ninth in the Calder Trophy voting for the NHL's rookie of the year. The award went to Columbus' Steve Mason.
