The sixth edition of the Lightning’s “Ice Hot” Radio Series is set to kick off on Monday, Mar. 15 at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 15698 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. in Tampa, and will feature special guests Kurtis Foster and recently acquired winger Teddy Purcell.
McDonald’s “Ice Hot” Radio Show is an interactive question-and-answer session which brings at least two Lightning players into a casual, barrier-free environment, while giving them the opportunity to get to know the fans on a more personal level away from the ice.
From 6-7 p.m., Foster and Purcell will answer fans’ questions in front of a live audience, as well as those that are called in over the airwaves on AM 620 WDAE, with the voice of Lightning radio Dave Mishkin serving as the honorary host. Lightning fans not in attendance at the event may call in person at 990-4620 in Hillsborough County, 461-4620 in Pinellas County, or toll-free at 1-888-546-4620 to ask a question, as no response will go unanswered.
Fans are encouraged to bring their favorite articles of Lightning merchandise to be signed afterwards, in a complimentary autograph session with Foster and Purcell from 7-7:30 p.m. Those in attendance will also receive a chance to register to win a jersey to be signed, tickets to upcoming games and other great giveaways, as the Lightning Girls, Lightning Mobile Marketing Truck and the Lightning merchandise tent will all be present to usher in the sweepstakes.
Previous “Ice Hot” Radio shows have taken place throughout the season in front of numerous record, capacity crowds at various McDonald’s locations throughout Tampa Bay. Several restaurants spread across the Bay Area have already been graced with some of the team’s most popular fan favorites, including Martin St. Louis, Mike Smith, Ryan Malone, Victor Hedman and Mike Lundin.
As always, fans are reminded to regularly stay tuned in to tampabaylightning.com, as well as the team’s official Facebook and Twitter pages, for details on which special guests will be appearing at the next successful edition of the Lightning’s “Ice Hot” Radio Series, which will take place on Apr. 5 at a location to be determined.
