The 2012 NCAA Frozen Four at Tampa Bay Times Forum is now less than a month away, and the races for the four coveted spots are heating up.
With the regular season now over, the country’s five major conferences are in the midst of their playoffs, with each conference champion being guaranteed a spot in the NCAA tournament’s field of 16. After the five conference champions are granted automatic tournament berths, the remaining spots will be awarded to the country’s top 11 remaining teams who did not win their conference tournaments.
Once the field of 16 is decided, the field will be broken up into four regional subgroups, with the winner of each regional tournament advancing to The Frozen Four in Tampa Bay in April.
