Revamped Glitz and Sticks event set for Feb. 19

by Staff Writer / Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning will hold their annual Glitz & Sticks: A Celebrity Casino Evening, benefitting Tampa General Hospital Children’s Medical Center and the Lightning Foundation, on Sunday, February 19 from 6-10 p.m. at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. This year’s event will feature a number of new interactive experiences that will allow fans to get even more up close and personal with Lightning players, coaches and personalities.

As in previous years, Glitz & Sticks attendees will enjoy dancing, entertainment, distinct auctions gourmet dining and more. That is not all though, as the Lightning Foundation has revamped the event with experiences that go far beyond simple casino gaming. Ever wonder if you could hang on the ping pong table with Marty St. Louis? Beat Victor Hedman at foosball? Those are just two of the newest experiences available at this year’s Glitz & Sticks. There will also be air hockey and a photo booth. Auctions will also be enhanced this year as guests can use electronic eBidders to make and monitor their bids. This year’s event will be hosted by former Lightning captain and 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Dave Andreychuk, current vice president of fans and business development.

The event will kick off with the DEX Imaging Patron’s Party from 5-6 p.m. for event sponsors with Lightning players, coaches and staff. At 6 p.m. the doors will open to general ticket holders. Dress is formal or cocktail.

Glitz & Sticks is the annual signature event put on by the Lightning Foundation, dedicated to investing its resources and leadership for the enrichment of the people of Tampa Bay, focusing on meeting basic human needs and enhancing lives.

Base sponsorships are available starting at $5,000 and include 10 tickets to attend the DEX Imaging Patron’s Party and Glitz and Sticks, name or company logo on all casino games and special recognition on printed and digital materials. Individual tickets are available for $200. For information, or to order, visit
