Re-signed by the Lightning to a one-year, one-way contract on June 27, 2014

2013-14 SEASON: Skated in 49 games with the Lightning this season, posting five goals and 10 points to go along with 28 penalty minutes…Ranked fourth (tie-DeKeyser) among rookie defensemen in the NHL with a +10 rating…Recorded a plus or even rating in 40 of his 49 games…Recorded his first career NHL point (assist) on Nov. 2 vs. STL

SEASON PREVIEW IN 50 WORDS OR LESS: Barberio proved himself to be a worthy NHL defender in his first NHL season last year averaging more than 14 minutes per game and general manager Steve Yzerman rewarded him with a one-way contract this season. He’s expected to contribute solid minutes to the Bolts blueline.
